The Europe Forum, Finland\u2019s most significant event focusing on European policy, will be held for the ninth time in Turku on 26\u201328 August 2026. The three-day event brings together key influencers, experts, decision-makers, and citizens to explore questions concerning the future of Europe.<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This year\u2019s forum theme is \u201cValues, innovation and security as the foundation of the EU\u2019s success\u201d.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Europe has everything it needs to succeed \u2013 people, expertise and values. Now is the time to act”, says <\/span>Henna Virkkunen<\/span><\/b>, Executive Vice-President of the European Commission responsible for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition to Virkkunen, this year\u2019s discussions on the future of Europe will feature, among others, Prime Minister\u00a0<\/span>Petteri Orpo<\/span><\/b>, Patria CEO\u00a0<\/span>Panu Routila<\/span><\/b>, Commander of the Finnish Navy, Rear Admiral\u00a0<\/span>Tuomas Tiilikainen<\/span><\/b>, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change\u00a0<\/span>Sari Multala<\/span><\/b>, and Members of the European Parliament\u00a0<\/span>Li Andersson<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Mika Aaltola<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Pekka Toveri<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Maria\u00a0Ohisalo<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Ville Niinist\u00f6<\/span><\/b>,\u00a0<\/span>Sirpa Pietik\u00e4inen<\/span><\/b>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Aura Salla<\/span><\/b>.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On Wednesday 27 August from 14.00 to 17.00, a Speaker\u2019s Corner discussion event will be held at\u00a0Hansatori\u00a0Square\u00a0in Turku. The event brings citizens together to discuss current European issues in a direct and understandable way.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the afternoon, the discussion will focus on values, democracy, the role of the media and security \u2013 while also giving space to young people\u2019s views on the future of Europe.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“The upcoming Europe Forum is a test for Finnish political debate: Are we ready to discuss the concrete means by which we can build a strong and independent Europe that can cope amid global crises and guarantee a secure future for every generation”, says <\/span>Pieta P\u00e4iv\u00e4nen<\/span><\/b>, Chair of\u00a0JEF Finland (Eurooppanuoret).<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Relaxed\u00a0Side\u00a0Programme in\u00a0Connection\u00a0with\u00a0the\u00a0Europe Forum<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

This year,\u00a0the\u00a0Europe Forum will also introduce new, more\u00a0relaxed\u00a0and participatory content to complement the discussions on the main stages.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During the forum, the Prime Minister\u2019s Office will organise short interview sessions of around 10 minutes on the foyer stage, focusing on current themes in Finland\u2019s EU advocacy. These concise discussions offer a unique opportunity to hear experts\u2019 views up close \u2013 the content will not be streamed and can only be experienced on site.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In addition, side programme open to everyone will be organised in connection with the forum, offering opportunities for networking, learning something new and enjoying a more relaxed atmosphere around European themes. On the opening day, the European Commission Representation in Finland invites participants to an EU-themed pub quiz at restaurant Arvo from 19.00 onwards.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The programme will be updated during the summer.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Registration for\u00a0the\u00a0Europe Forum\u00a0Opens in\u00a0Early August<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

The full three-day programme of\u00a0the\u00a0Europe Forum is now complete, and the programme outline has been published at\u00a0<\/span>www.europeforum.fi<\/span><\/a>. It will be continuously updated during the summer. Young participants\u00a0in particular are\u00a0warmly encouraged to take part in the forum.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The event is free of charge and open to everyone. The programme can be followed at Turku City Theatre or live online at\u00a0<\/span>www.europeforum.fi<\/span><\/a>. Registration for\u00a0the\u00a0Europe Forum will open in early August.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
