Letta will deliver a speech on the need for reform in EU industrial policy and state aid on Wednesday, August 28, at the forum&#8217;s opening ceremony.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Letta&#8217;s prestigious report on the EU&#8217;s internal market, published in the spring, is one of three key documents guiding the upcoming European Commission&#8217;s work program. The Europe Forum offers a unique opportunity to hear about the report&#8217;s key findings and concrete actions for reforming EU industrial policy and the state aid system in the upcoming Commission term, directly from the expert, Letta himself.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Enrico Letta served as Italy&#8217;s Prime Minister from 2013 to 2014 and as leader of the Italian Democratic Party from 2021 to 2023. Letta transitioned from an academic career to politics in 1998. He was Minister for European Affairs in 1998, Minister of Industry from 1999 to 2001, and a Member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2009. In 2014, he became Dean of the Paris School of International Affairs at Sciences Po University. Currently, he is the President of the Jacques Delors Institute and a member of the lower house of the Italian Parliament.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This year&#8217;s theme for the Europe Forum is Finland\u2019s and Europe&#8217;s Secure Future. The forum will feature over 30 discussions addressing the theme through geopolitics, economic security, and sustainability.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Europe Forum is Finland&#8217;s flagship event for European policy discussion, bringing together numerous politicians, influencers, and experts.
