A major influencer in Finnish and European politics, former Prime Minister Paavo Lipponen, arrives at the Europe Forum on Wednesday, August 28. In Turku, Lipponen will share his views on the future of Europe and Finland. He considers the year 2025 as a significant turning point, a kind of year of destiny for Europe.

Lipponen steered Finland’s government during the first eight years of EU membership and led the work of the entire EU Council in 1999.

Lipponen will be interviewed by former Director-General Reijo Kemppinen, who has long served in leadership positions in various EU institutions. The event promises to be a timely and expert occasion where attendees can hear Lipponen’s thoughts on the upcoming challenges and how Europe and Finland should prepare to face them.

The Europe Forum is Finland’s flagship event for European policy discussion, bringing together numerous politicians, influencers, and experts. This year, the event will be held between 28 August and 30 August 2024 at the Turku City Theatre. You can register for the event starting August 14 at www.europeforum.fi. The event’s discussions can also be followed live online.
