Prime Minister Petteri Orpo will open the Europe Forum on Wednesday, August 28. In his opening speech, he will address Finland’s European policy guidelines following the European Parliament elections.
– We have returned to the basics of European integration: promoting peace and defending our values. This year’s theme of securing a safe future fits well with this idea, says Prime Minister Petteri Orpo.
Orpo’s opening speech will lay the foundation for the event’s other discussions, which will address the safety theme, focusing on topics such as geopolitical safety, sustainable safety and economic safety. Speaking alongside Orpo at the opening ceremony will be former Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta. His report on the EU’s internal market, published in the spring, is one of three key reports that will guide the commission’s agenda in the coming year.
This year’s theme for the Europe Forum is the secure future of Finland and Europe. The forum will feature over 30 discussions addressing the theme through various perspectives.
The Europe Forum is Finland’s flagship event for European policy discussion, bringing together numerous politicians, influencers, and experts. This year, the event will be held between 28 August and 30 August 2024 at the Turku City Theatre. You can register for the event starting August 14 at www.europeforum.fi/en. The event’s discussions can also be followed live online.
