Prime Minister Sanna Marin will participate in the first Speakers’ Corner on March 16

Europe Forum, which traditionally opens Finland’s political season each autumn, offers two Speakers’ Corner discussions this spring. The first guest of the Speakers’ Corner is Prime Minister Sanna Marin. The discussion will be moderated by Markku Jokisipilä, the Director of The Centre for Parliamentary Studies.

The discussion will address Finland’s European policy in recent years and how it has changed during the pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and the energy crisis. The discussion will also reflect on how the Prime Minister’s role has changed during Marin’s tenure, and which direction Europe and the EU are developing. The event will be opened by Matti Niemi, the Chair of Eurooppa-Foorumi Turussa ry.

The recording of the discussion can be found on Youtube. The discussion is in Finnish.

The next Speakers’ Corner will take place on April 12 with Mikko Hautala, Ambassador of Finland to the United States.

Save the date! The Europe Forum 2023 will be held in Turku from August 30 to September 1. This year too, the forum will feature ministers, MEPs, and experts in science, politics, and economy. The program will be announced in May.
